But I wasn't always this confident and self-preserving. As a survivor of abuse, I spent decades hiding my light under a shadow of shame. My negative thoughts and people-pleasing ways kept me caught up in cycles of depression, drama, self-hatred, and resentment. I was convinced that I was worthless and unlovable.
I discovered that we create our own sense of value by the thoughts we think. And if you want the love and respect of others, you have to first be willing to give it to yourself. My life changed when I learned how to stop playing the role of victim.
I know what kind of a hell self-doubt is, and the damage it can do to every aspect of your life. I understand your struggles. It's easy to get sucked into defeatist thinking, but you have a choice.
