Meet Andrea Amador

Andrea Amador is The Juicy Woman. She's a fireball, motivated by her mission to teach and empower women and girls to overcome the adversity in their lives. Andrea has studied the field of personal growth for 38 years. When she was 11, her beloved father brought her to attend her first Silva Mind Control seminar. Today she is an IPEC (Institute of Professional Empowerment Coaching) Certified Empowerment Coach, Master Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), Ericksonian Hypnosis and a Certified Emotional Freedom Technique Practitioner. Among her professional training, she has participated in Jack Canfield’s Living Your Highest Vision Self Esteem Seminar, Anthony Robbins, "Unleash the Power Within" The Silva Method and EPIC (Every Person Influences Children) But it’s Andrea’s rare combination of raw life experience and professional training that gives her the edge in helping women and girls who struggle with body image and/or abuse issues.

Her clients rave about her saying, "I haven't met anyone as passionate about helping people as she is. She is a firm believer in providing people with the tools to help them change their lives. And she knows that it always begins with what we believe about ourselves. Andrea not only gives people the tools to change their lives, she motivates them to keep working with these tools until they have the proof for themselves. An amazing coach, an inspiration, and a person who lives what she teaches. An incredible woman!" But it’s her compassion, warmth and down to earth realness that makes you keep coming back for more."

In 1985, a crisis situation at home made it necessary for Andrea to leave college prematurely. At her grandmother's urging, she felt obligated to step in and manage the family real estate business on her father’s behalf. The next 15 years were very difficult with the exception of the fulfillment she felt working with her Nana. She was unfairly compensated, underappreciated and constantly criticized by her father.

Her discontent led her to join a women’s empowerment circle. Andrea confronted her father with an ultimatum to sell the properties and give her 49% . He agreed to her terms. She negotiated the sale of the properties for $10.5M. In the end, because she trusted her father so implicitly, he betrayed her by reneging on his promise.

In speaking about the experience, Andrea says,"the personal and financial losses were devastating, but through it all I can now say I’ve become a stronger person for having gone through the experience—I may have lost my father, but I gained myself."

In 2004, while attending an NLP coaching training, Andrea was overcome by painful memories of sexual abuse. A colleague rushed to her aid and showed her a stress relief process called Emotional Freedom Technique. From that moment forward, Andrea’s life changed. Today she is passionately dedicated to teaching women how to use stress relief methods to face any of life’s challenges.

She has since worked with groups of women and girls creating body image/self esteem programs and leading success and leadership seminars for individuals and organizations, such as The 90 Day Product Factory, Boscov's, Girl Scouts, Department of Social Services, East Ramapo Central School district and a variety of local businesses, Adult Education communities, schools and colleges.

She is currently working on a collaboration with Curves and Lane Bryant to present health programs for their customers.

In addition to being the proud Editor of the Body and Soul section of Curvy Magazine, you can read more of her work online and in print in First for Women Magazine, Just As Beautiful, Fair Lady, Ezine, Zimbio and of course her 8 year old blog, entitled "The Juicy Woman Blog"

She is the host of a new Youtube show on Skorch TV called, "The Juicy Woman's Guide to Lovin' the Skin You're In." As a woman who's 'been through it', she teaches and leads by example, by sharing her stories with honesty and passion. As a role model and leader, she inspires other women to never give up and to overcome any obstacle by tapping into their greatness within.

In her book, "Lovin' the Skin You're In: The Juicy Woman's Guide to Making Peace with Food and Friends with Your Body," Andrea sprinkles her unique blend of storytelling, spice, playfulness, authenticity, knowledge, training, expertise and mixes it all up in her own unique way specially designed to serve and empower women to overcome their challenges with emotional eating and love their thighs at any size.

Andrea lives in upstate New York with her husband, Angel, and their two kids, twenty year old PT (Paul) and fifteen year old Cara. She's a die-hard Elton John fan, a former Brownie Girl Scout Leader and adores anything to do with The Food Network.

She enjoys a close, loving relationship with her step daughter, Janelle, who is a Master Sargeant in the United States Air Force. Andrea loves to hang out, watch movies, and bake cookies with her step grandson, Aiden. Double blessed, Andrea has a great support network of dear friends, including Lucy, Carmen, and Dawn.

In 2004, after her heart was cracked open and taken hostage by a charcoal gray and white declawed stray cat who her family adopted and named Owie (short for Oreo), she is now passionately involved in cat rescue. When she’s not reading, writing, or cooking, Andrea continues to fuel her passion for learning, serving others, and dedicates her life to doing her Nana proud.

And, yes, on most days Andrea really does love the skin she’s in.
