Have you gotten caught up in feeling blue?
I’ve had a bit of contrast in my life lately. I understand that’s a politically correct way of saying that I’ve been dealing with a bit of muck over the past few weeks.
Don’t you hate when that happens?
Things seem to be going so great for such a long time and then, Bam! Out of nowhere it seems like some things just start unraveling.
Parts of my past have been making a comeback and threatening to put me back into that old mind space of being small and scared.
So that tells me there’s a fork in the road, and a choice to make.
Unfortunately that’s a big part of life. Things will happen that you don’t
like and people will re-enter your life and give you a hard time. What really
matters is what you do with the situation.
I’ve decided to make lemonade out of my lemons. Thankfully that no longer
necessarily means raiding the fridge to find my peace.
Instead of hurting myself with food, now I know that one of the things that
I’ve discovered works to put me back in the pink when things are really tough
and it feels like everything is going wrong, is to put a part of me on autopilot
and spend more time focusing on a more desired outcome.
Sometimes being fully present in the now is the last thing you want to do so you can choose another thought.
I do that by spending more time visualizing what I see for my future and by
doing that within a few days I lift up out of those clouds, and move into a
space of joy and abundance.
How about you? What works for you when you’re feeling blue?
