As a plus size woman I have struggled with being overweight for most of my life. At 58 now, for decades I have hated and felt ashamed of my fat thighs, big butt and wide hips.
In the early stage of writing my book, “Lovin’ the Skin You’re In” I had set a goal to find examples of real plus-sized women who were confident and loved their bigger bodies.
Back in 2009 I found Plus Model Magazine online and began reading it. Looking at pictures of beautiful, large, full-figured women wearing stunning clothes and necklaces, and other other adornments made me realize I could do this too. I don’t have to always wear oversized baggy shirts, and elastic pants. Maybe I could try a little more. Maybe I could look a little prettier.
That was the first step and a huge insight for me. #PlusModelMagazine, also known as #PMM changed my life by opening up a whole new world of possibilities for me.
I credit Plus Model Magazine with teaching me how to love and accept my body at every size.
Plus Model Magazine taught me how to see beauty in my curves and embrace the body I have.
