Dieting does not work, researchers report from PhysOrg.com
Will you lose weight and keep it off if you diet? No, probably not, UCLA researchers report in the April issue of American Psychologist, the journal of the American Psychological Association. []

Traci Mann, a UCLA Associate Professor of Psychology and lead author of the study said, “We found that the majority of people regained the weight, plus more. Sustained weight loss was found only in a small minority of participants while complete weight regain was found in the majority. Diets do not lead to sustained weight loss or health benefits for the majority of people.”

These findings are the results of 31 different long term studies, analyzing people who lost weight on diets and opted to have their progress tracked by this study for between 2-5 years.

When asked what alternative is best to consider in lieu of dieting, the author of the study, Mann said, “Eating in moderation is a good idea for everybody, and so is regular exercise.”

In my opinion, it is so refreshing to see that science is beginning to come to to grips with the fact that diets don’t work. They fail to address the emotions that drive people to overeat.

If you’re a woman who is an emotional eater, ready to get off the diet roller coaster and learn how to lose weight without dieting, then there’s a light at the end of the tunnel for you!

Starting next Tuesday, April 17, I will begin my third session of my Losing Weight without Dieting Program. In that program, I teach women who are emotional eaters how to reclaim their power over food and gain a new sense of self respect for their bodies. Read what my clients have to say about it.

Using a non diet approach to weight loss, and combining that with the benefits of rapid response stress relief techniques like Emotional Freedom Technique and Neuro Linguistic Programming, LWWD is giving many women the tools and strategies they need to overcome comfort food eating, food obsessions, cravings and make peace with all foods. Come on, Juicy Woman, what’s stopping you? Pack your pantry and get ready to join us next Tuesday.
