The Law of Attraction states that we draw towards us that which we think about most often. What things do you think about? Sometimes our thoughts are clear and focused and other times they just appear to be a mixed jumble of images, sounds, feelings and conversations. The following short exercise might be useful to you the next time you find yourself feeling blue.
I just finished reading a very inspirational article in the latest EFT newsletter. It was written by Dr. Patricia Carrington. In the article, she demonstrated a simple method for applying EFT to anchor in positive emotions and memories in our daily lives.
All too often, in our haste to get things done, we forget that there is a world of peace and tranquility right beneath the surface. At the time, we may not see it or it may seem unimportant or trivial, yet the solace that it can bring to our lives is valuable beyond compare. We just have to key into those happy feelings and anchor them in our memory. By doing that, you will then be able to recall them more effortlessly the next time that you are in a pressure situation. Last week I spoke about anchoring using NLP. You can also use EFT.
The next time that you are in the presence of a special moment. Take some time and really let that seep into your consciousness. Dr. Carrington suggests to think of a key phrase that reminds you of the moment and tap it in using all the key EFT points.
For example I have a clock that sits on my desk that used to belong to my grandmother, who I affectionately called, “Nana.” It’s a stunning wind up clock with a lovely Chinese motif. It has a gentle ticking sound and I love it. That sound is something that I would like to have easy access to anytime, especially when I am feeling low.
Following the lead of Dr. Carrington, I decided to repeat the phrase as I tapped on each corresponding Acupressure point:
Inner Corner of the Eye: The sound of Nana’s clock
Outer Corner of the Eye: The sound of Nana’s clock
Under Eye: The sound of Nana’s clock
Under Nose: The sound of Nana’s clock
Chin: The sound of Nana’s clock
Collar Bone: The sound of Nana’s clock
Under Arm: The sound of Nana’s clock
Mmmmm. I already feel more calm. Now you try it. Go ahead and give this a go and see how you feel afterwards. Please leave a comment and share your thoughts and ideas. I’d love to hear how it worked for you.
